Ek Vivaah Aisa Bhi

Contrary to what Veer Singh would have us believe, the British Monarchy does serve a purpose. It was impossible to see the Royal Wedding and not be impressed. In harsh times, the Monarchy is a sign of continuity, strength and a symbol of unity. The pomp and the pageantry displayed showcased the United Kingdom in all its glory. A bright spot in these bleak times.

On an aside I have the weird image of Michael Middleton singing Baabul ki duaayein leti jaa and Kader Khan performing Dulhe Ka Sehra stuck in my head. Sshh! Must not watch so many Hindi movies.
